  • High integrity, empathy toward marginalized and vulnerable patients, and strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

  • Willingness to work flexible shift schedules, including weekends and holidays as required.

Context:

The Leprosy Mission International Bangladesh (TLMI-B), a member of The Leprosy Mission (TLM), is an international Christian faith-based organization working since 1991 in close partnership with the Government of Bangladesh toward the vision of "leprosy defeated, lives transformed." TLMI-B delivers specialized healthcare, socio-economic rehabilitation, advocacy, and research to support individuals affected by leprosy, disability, and social exclusion.

As part of its healthcare operations, DBLM Hospital is currently expanding clinic services in Rangpur and inviting applications from eligible, proactive professionals for the position of Pharmacy Assistant.

Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the hospital pharmacy, including dispensing prescribed medications, managing stock inventory, maintaining strict storage compliance, and providing clear medicine administration instructions to patients in accordance with national pharmacy regulations and organizational standards

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sell medicines as per the doctor’s prescription

  • Provide clear, respectful instructions to patients regarding dosage, usage, precautions, and proper medication storage to ensure compliance.

  • Serve patients following the First in First Out (FIFO) method.

  • Handle billing and cash transactions accurately.

  • Check and maintain stock of medicines and other pharmacy items regularly.

  • Check expiry dates and remove expired or near-expiry items, consulting with management.

  • Keep daily sales and stock records up to date in the HMIS system using the computer.

  • Prepare a list of short items and submit a requisition for procurement.

  • Listen to patients patiently.

  • Keep the pharmacy area clean, disinfected, organized, and well-stocked.

  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, physiotherapists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure prompt delivery of critical diagnostic results.
