Basic knowledge of crop production, field management, harvesting, and post-harvest practices.

Strong understanding of climate-adaptive, climate-smart agricultural and livelihood enhancement practices and their relevance to smallholder farmers.

Good understanding of market trends, value chain optimization, crop diversification, and addressing social and gender equity concerns.

Skilled in promoting entrepreneurship and facilitating the organization of producer groups.

Proficient in assisting with the development of training resources and leading facilitation sessions.

Awareness of climate risks, natural disasters, seasonal information, and basic adaptation measures relevant to agriculture.

Educational Requirements:

Diploma in Agriculture/Forestry/Fisheries/Livestock.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum one year of working experience in agriculture/fisheries and livestock related activities with market and value chain development, diversified crop cultivation, demonstrations, producer groups etc.

The Programme Organizer will support the effective implementation of ICCP field-level interventions by mobilizing and building the capacity of programme participants to adopt climate-adaptive agricultural practices, strengthen income-generating opportunities, and establish sustainable market linkages. The Programme Organizer is responsible for coordinating and monitoring assigned field activities, facilitating access to relevant technical and market support, and ensuring the timely collection, verification, and documentation of field data to contribute to programme delivery, performance monitoring, and achievement of intended outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and mobilise farmers from Village Development Organizations (VDOs) and surrounding communities who are engaged in agricultural activities, in line with programme criteria.

• Facilitate the formation of sector groups, conduct regular group meetings, and support activity planning and follow-up.

• Promote climate-adaptive and climate-smart agricultural practices among sector groups, and raise awareness of climate adaptation, agricultural productivity, and climate information to strengthen resilience to climate change and natural disasters.

• Coordinate with local agricultural service providers, including Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officers, to facilitate technical support for crop production and field management.

• Support linkages between sector groups and relevant government agencies (Department of Agricultural Extension-DAE), NGOs, private-sector actors, and other service providers to improve access to agricultural inputs, services, resources, and technical expertise.

• Facilitate linkages with input suppliers, buyers, and other market actors to improve access to quality inputs and market opportunities for agricultural products.

• Organise and support training, awareness sessions, and field demonstrations on climate-adaptive inputs and services, crop and field management, harvesting, post-harvest practices, and market linkages.

• Support participants in strengthening income-generating activities and developing basic entrepreneurial capacities, with regular follow-up to promote sustainability.

• Collect, verify, maintain, and submit programme data and field documentation, including MIS information, case studies, activity reports, and key field learnings, to the Sector Specialist.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
