Experience:
Professional training or qualifications in leprosy, neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), or disability studies will be a strong advantage·
Good working knowledge of descriptive, inferential, and advanced statistical methods.
Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with research software and analytical tools.
Demonstrated ability to lead the exploration of research funding scope, including developing grant applications and innovative concept development.
Excellent capacity in writing and supporting the team for manuscript and abstract writing, along with other criteria for journal publication, dissemination, and influence for research result application.
Excellent understanding of research methodologies, including sampling techniques, data collection methods, and tool development.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide high-performing teams to achieve objectives.
Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, with the ability to convey complex information to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
Strong ability in networking and liaison with diverse actors, advocacy with policy makers to influence research result application.
Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in research, preferably within a development organization, NGOs, or research-based organizations/institutions. At least five years of experience in a senior management or leadership role.
Promote an integrated approach to strategic planning, leading in the area of Research and Development work plans in line with The Leprosy Mission’s Country Strategy for Bangladesh
Develop an effective and supportive working relationship with other TLMI-B National Leads (Healthcare; Inclusive Development; and Advocacy) to ensure cohesive planning, assess programme implications, and enable timely and effective responses.
Ensure research policies, protocols, practices and project cycle management for all research programmes are developed, maintained, and implemented according to TLM standards.
Oversee and coordinate all research activities (clinical, operational, and social), including effective execution of the Leprosy Field Research Program (LepFiRe) in Bangladesh.
Lead the identification, development, implementation, and dissemination of research to inform practice and evidence-based solutions.
Manage and supervise the research team to ensure strong performance, productivity, and progress monitoring.
Identify programmatic knowledge gaps, develop research proposals, secure funding, and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
Submit high-quality, timely reports to research donors in coordination with accountable persons.
Lead the knowledge systems and processes to capture, document, and disseminate research learning, while fostering continuous learning and promoting the adoption of innovative practices across programmes.
Ensure budgetary control related to research through regular supervision.
