Additional Requirements:

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field (e.g., Public Health, Social Science, Health Economics, Statistics). Master’s degree in the same subjects will be preferred.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a research role.

• Proven track record in designing and conducting research projects.     

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including relevant statistical software (e.g., SPSS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) etc.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Committed to work for the people affected by leprosy.

Responsibilities & Context:

Job Overview:

The Research Officer will be responsible for designing, conducting, and analyzing research projects within the organization. This role involves gathering and interpreting data to provide actionable insights that support the organization’s strategic objectives. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, analytical thinker with a strong background in research methodologies and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and plan research projects, including defining objectives, methodologies, and timelines.

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and data analysis.

• Ensure all research activities comply with ethical standards and organizational guidelines.

• Collect and manage data using various tools and software (eg. Kobo Toolbox, REDCaps)

• Analyze data using statistical methods and software, translating findings into comprehensive reports (eg. SPSS).

• Identify trends, patterns, and insights to inform strategic decisions.

• Prepare detailed research reports, summaries, and visualizations to present findings to stakeholders.

• Communicate complex data in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Provide recommendations based on research findings to support strategies.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand research needs and align projects with organizational goals.

• Provide support in designing and implementing research projects initiated by other departments.

• Stay updated with the latest research trends, tools, and methodologies to enhance research quality and efficiency.
