∎ Capacity to work independently, and under pressure.
∎ Good computer knowledge especially in MS Word, and Excel, and also should be good in email communication.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Perform all duties and responsibilities under direct supervision, instruction, direction, and control of the Sr. Staff Lawyer/ Staff Lawyer.
∎ Provide support to the lawyers in preparing the petitions and case filing, e.g., collecting okalatnama, necessary documents from the clients and camp office, photocopying, and submitting the petition to the filing section of court.
∎ Maintain separate case records/files according to camp number and preserve all necessary and relevant documents for the concerned case.
∎ Assist the advocate and advocate’s clerk at the Court in conducting the case.
∎ Track case progress and inform the concerned lawyer regarding the next step and next court date.
∎ Collect the case-related information/case docket from the concerned court/police station and provide it to the respective lawyer.
∎ Assist the justice seekers to able the legal remedy from the respective police station and court.
∎ Support to arrange the transportation and food for the justice seekers to ensure their presence before the court, police station, and OCC as required.
∎ Assist the justice seekers to reach the Rohingya camp from different districts (outside of Cox’s Bazar), as required.
∎ Maintain constant contact with clients, panel lawyer’s assistant, and camp offices.
∎ Maintained liaison with the GRO sections, Police station, District Legal Aid Office, and Prison for collecting case-related information.
∎ Maintained court diary, and central registers and updated the case file/record as guided by supervisor.
∎ Assist in organizing and participating in different meetings, training, and workshops as required.
∎ Prepare the pending case report and update the relevant lawyer to take the necessary steps.
∎ Develop good relationships with the District Legal Aid Office and do regular follow-ups about the status of referred cases as well as assist with the day-to-day work of the District Legal Aid Office.
∎ Carry out other activities as and when required by the project management.
