Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
·Master’s or nautical/technical qualification a plus.
·Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in marine/lighter vessel operations, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
·Strong knowledge of lightering, ship-to-ship/ship-to-shore transfer operations, cargo handling and port logistics.
·Proven leadership, planning, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
·Excellent communication skills and ability to work shifts and on-call as required.
·Proficiency with vessel scheduling/operations software and MS Office.
·Experience with hazardous or bulk cargo lightering operations.
·Valid seafarer certification or prior sea-going experience.
Knowledge of local port tariffs, customs procedures and maritime insurance issues.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong background in lighter vessel operations to contribute to the growth and success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate and oversee day-to-day lighter vessel operations, including barge/tug deployment, cargo transfer and stowage procedures.
Ensure compliance with national and international maritime, port and safety regulations & local port rules).
Develop and enforce safety management procedures, emergency response and incident investigation processes.
Optimize vessel scheduling, berth assignments and turnaround times to meet customer SLAs and minimize demurrage.
Manage asset maintenance planning and coordination with technical/engineering teams to ensure vessel seaworthiness and equipment readiness.
Control operational budgets, monitor costs (fuel, port fees, crew, repairs) and propose efficiency improvements.
Supervise and mentor operational staff, crew coordination, rostering and performance management.
Liaise with charterers, agents, stevedores, port authorities, terminals and cargo owners to resolve operational issues.
Prepare operational reports, KPIs, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
