Knowledge & Technical Competencies:

1. Sound understanding of internal audit principles, internal control systems, and risk-based audit approaches.

2. Working knowledge of finance company operations, including leasing, CMSME financing, consumer finance, deposits, and treasury functions.

3. Familiarity with Bangladesh Bank circulars, guidelines, and regulatory compliance requirements applicable to finance companies.

4. Ability to review credit files, financial statements, operational records, and MIS.

5. Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with audit tools or data analysis will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities & Context:
  • Assist in conducting risk-based internal audits of Head Office divisions, branches, and subsidiaries of the company.
  • Review compliance with internal policies, procedures, delegated authority matrices, and regulatory requirements issued by Bangladesh Bank and other relevant regulators.
  • Examine loan, deposit, treasury, and operational files to identify control gaps, policy deviations, and procedural weaknesses.
  • Verify the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of financial and operational records, MIS, and supporting documents.
  • Identify process inefficiencies, control weaknesses, and risk exposures, and document audit observations with adequate evidence.
  • Prepare audit working papers, checklists, and draft observations in line with Internal Audit standards and departmental methodology.
  • Assist in drafting internal audit reports, including impact analysis, root-cause identification, and practical recommendations.
  • Conduct follow-up reviews to assess implementation status of previous audit observations and management action plans.
  • Support special audits, investigations, and management-requested reviews when required.
  • Maintain proper audit documentation and ensure compliance with confidentiality, independence, and professional ethics.
  • Coordinate with auditee units to obtain information and clarify audit issues in a professional manner.
