Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Provide nutrition counseling of patients with chronic disease on dietary management and lifestyle modification
∎ Provide early year stimulation services for children aged 0-36 months
∎ Conduct Counselling to mothers and caregivers of children under 5 years on nutritional practices and sick child care
∎ Ensure Regular service and data entry in KOBO
∎ Ensure and conduct IYCF counselling for pregnant and lactating mothers with children under 2 years of age
∎ Refer to nutrition center following sectoral protocol in consultation with supervisor
∎ Prepare diet plan for diabetic, Hypertensive, stroke, TB & Malaria patients
∎ Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patient or client
∎ Advise patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation
∎ Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life
∎ Contribute in developing curriculum and preparation of manuals, visual aids, course outlines, and other materials used in teaching
∎ Track the stock of supplies and equipments at the counseling corner and place requisition on time
∎ Manage clinical and community nutrition services
∎ Coordinate diet counseling services
∎ Organize, develop, analyze, test, and prepare special meals such as low-fat, low-cholesterol and chemical-free meals
∎ Make recommendations regarding nutrition labeling, food fortification, and nutrition standards for programs
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
∎
∎ Nutritionist is responsible to work with the supervisor closely to ensure plan and conduct service or nutritional programs to assist in the promotion of health and prevention of disease. May supervise activities of a department providing quantity food services, counsel individuals, or conduct nutrition research.
