∎ General Functions:
∎ Under the direct supervision of the Shelter/Non-Food Item (NFI) Sector Coordinator the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Information Management requirements in the specific Shelter/NFI Sector coordination area. Timely and accurate information is integral to successful coordination of humanitarian action. The ability to collect, collate, analyse, disseminate and act on key humanitarian information is fundamental to effective response. For information to support analysis for operational and strategic decision-making, shared standards and common approaches are required to facilitate delivery and monitoring of assistance within and across Sectors, and to undertake gap analysis in determining priorities
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure Sector partners provide timely, consistent and compatible data and information on remaining shelter/NFI needs and assistance planned and provided for operational analysis and decision-making.
∎ Support inter sector coordination group (ISCG) in cross-Cluster information management and analysis at the strategic level.
∎ Ensure the dissemination and adaptation as necessary of information management tools that meet Sector needs.
∎ Ensure linkages with all Sector stakeholders, particularly national actors, for enhanced sectoral risk mapping and gap identification.
∎ Provide sector-specific maps and graphics on a regular basis that aid forward planning as well as impact analysis.
∎ Develop simple, user-friendly emergency shelter/NFI assistance reporting formats in consultation with the local authorities, providers of shelter/NFI assistance and other key stakeholders; these reporting formats should include provision for gender and age disaggregation of data and reporting on more vulnerable groups
∎ Promote use of and training on the use of these reporting tools among shelter assistance providers and other stakeholders.
∎ Ensure application of appropriate information technology for maintenance of Sector partner lists (e.g through Google Groups) and archiving of information
∎ Ensure compliance of IOM Data Protection Principles and data security.
∎ Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience in Information Management, emergency humanitarian operations; management and coordination of information flows, data management including collection, storing, processing, and analyzing data to generate information products.
∎ In-depth knowledge of the latest technological developments in information technology and information system.
∎ Demonstrated ability for leadership in the context of partnership building and consensual decision-making.
∎ Proven skills to analyses statistical information.
∎ Ability to formulate IM-related technical requirements and Operating Procedures.
∎ Ability to translate planning-specifications into technical briefs for data capture and analysis, and vice versa.
∎ Ability to compile and holistically analyses diverse datasets.
∎ Experience with handling confidential data.
∎ Demonstrated team building and information management skills.
∎ Demonstrated understanding of different data collection methodologies.
∎ Knowledge and understanding of relational data theory.
∎ Experience in advanced data visualization and information design skills.
∎ Knowledge and experience in working with GIS, KOBO, PowerBI, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Illustrator, Excel and Google Services
∎ Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage staff at an operational level in humanitarian emergencies.
∎ Excellent knowledge of the IOM project management cycle.
∎ Good knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
∎ Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely in English.
∎ Strong computer skills.
∎ Proven high-level representation skills, such as speaking at meetings and providing situational analysis
