Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Evaluate life insurance proposals and assess risk levels.
∎ Analyze medical records, financial statements, and other relevant documents.
∎ Collaborate with experts gather necessary information.
∎ Determine appropriate coverage amounts and premiums based on risk assessment.
∎ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of underwriting guidelines and IDRA regulations.
∎ Communicate underwriting decisions to agents and applicants.
∎ Review and update underwriting policies and procedures as needed.
∎ Participate in underwriting audits and quality control processes.
∎ Stay informed about market trends and emerging risks in the insurance industry.
∎ Ready to utilize underwriting software and tools to streamline the evaluation process.
∎ Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
∎ Prepare and archive each application reviewed for better documentation.
∎ Work closely with other departments to resolve any underwriting-related issues.
∎ Attend industry conferences and training sessions to enhance professional knowledge.
∎ Provide training to support junior underwriters and for knowledge sharing with other departments.
∎ Assist/suggest in the development of new insurance products and services.
∎ Perform any job/task assigned by management.
