Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Job Overview:
∎ The Traceability Manager will oversee and ensure the complete traceability of raw materials, production processes, and finished goods in a garment manufacturing facility. This role is crucial for maintaining transparency, quality, and compliance throughout the supply chain, while meeting customer, regulatory, and sustainability requirements. The Traceability Manager will lead the team, develop systems, and enforce practices that allow for tracking and verifying the production of garments from sourcing to shipment.
∎ Key Responsibilities
∎ Develop and Implement Traceability Systems:
∎ Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of the traceability system for raw materials, production stages, and finished goods.
∎ Ensure that the traceability system is user-friendly, efficient, and capable of meeting compliance requirements (local and international)
∎ Monitor and Record Raw Material Tracking:
∎ Oversee the tracking of all raw materials (e.g., fabric, trims, labels) from suppliers to the production line.
∎ Ensure accurate and timely documentation of material sourcing, including supplier details, origin, and certifications.
∎ Maintain records of material receipts, usage, and waste.
∎ Production Process Monitoring and Reporting:
∎ Ensure the traceability system tracks each stage of the garment production process (cutting, sewing, finishing, packing).
∎ Implement a process for documenting work orders, labor records, machine settings, and production outputs.
∎ Ensure that all production stages comply with quality control and regulatory requirements.
∎ Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
∎ Oversee inventory systems to track the movement of raw materials and finished goods.
∎ Monitor and ensure the accuracy of stock records, ensuring no discrepancies between production outputs and inventory levels.
∎ Compliance and Certification Management:
∎ Ensure adherence to industry certifications and standards (e.g., GOTS, OEKO-TEX, Fair Trade).
∎ Manage audits and inspections related to traceability and ensure all documentation complies with both local and international regulatory standards.
∎ Ensure that the factory meets traceability requirements set by customers, such as retailers or brands.
∎ Data Management and Reporting:
∎ Manage traceability data and ensure proper storage, security, and easy access for internal or external audits.
∎ Generate regular traceability reports for management and clients, including product batch tracking, defect analysis, and sustainability metrics.
∎ Track and analyze traceability performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
∎ Supplier and Vendor Management:
∎ Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure they comply with traceability standards and provide necessary documentation (e.g., material origin, certifications).
∎ Monitor and ensure that raw materials are sourced sustainably, ethically, and in compliance with traceability protocols.
∎ Sustainability and Environmental Compliance:
∎ Work closely with the sustainability team to ensure that the traceability system supports the company’s environmental and ethical standards.
∎ Track and report on sustainability metrics (e.g., recycled materials, water usage, carbon footprint) and ensure full traceability for eco-friendly materials
