• Familiarity with plant safety standards and mechanical compliance protocols.

• Competence in using maintenance management systems and project scheduling tools.

We are encouraging competent and experienced professionals to apply for the position of Manager/Senior Manager – Mechanical (EAF/LRF), SMS Plant. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical erection, commissioning, and maintenance of Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) and Ladle Refining Furnace (LRF) systems within the Steel Melting Shop (SMS). This role ensures the reliable operation and optimal performance of critical furnace equipment and associated utility piping systems, in strict compliance with plant safety, quality, and operational standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical erection and commissioning of EAF and LRF equipment by planning and supervising all activities on-site, ensuring adherence to engineering drawings and specifications to guarantee safe, timely, and quality installation critical for achieving optimal furnace performance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, instrumentation, and piping, through regular meetings and progress monitoring, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems, avoiding delays and ensuring smooth startup and operation of the melt shop.
• Oversee the installation and integration of process and utility piping systems such as cooling water circuits, hydraulic lines, oxygen supply, and gas pipelines by verifying compliance with project standards and material specifications, which is essential for maintaining furnace efficiency and safety during steel production.
• Implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans by scheduling inspections, root cause analysis, and repairs on mechanical components to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment lifespan, thereby sustaining continuous melt shop operations.
• Ensure all mechanical activities comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards by enforcing site safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and maintaining documentation to protect personnel and assets while meeting regulatory requirements.
• Manage resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling for mechanical works by forecasting manpower and material needs, monitoring expenditure, and adjusting plans proactively to optimize project costs and timelines without compromising quality.
• Provide technical guidance and support during furnace start-up and troubleshooting by analyzing mechanical system behavior, identifying issues, and implementing corrective actions promptly to maintain process stability and production targets.
