Responsibilities & Context:
Perform comprehensive chemical and physical analysis of cement and ensure the quality of incoming raw materials, packing materials, in-process materials, and finished products in accordance with approved quality parameters and specifications.
Ensure compliance with national and international quality standards, including BDS EN, ASTM, and BIS, by implementing and maintaining effective quality control procedures.
Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment, including XRF, Flame Photometer, Blaine Apparatus, and other testing instruments to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality assurance and quality control activities.
Conduct routine chemical and physical tests of raw materials, clinker, gypsum, additives, cement, and finished products to ensure product conformity.
Perform brand-wise quality monitoring and chemical analysis of both grinding and finished cement products.
Monitor incoming raw materials, packing materials, and production processes to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
Carry out raw material testing, packer-wise weight verification, and quality inspections according to established testing schedules.
Actively monitor quality-related activities at the Jetty and Packing Plant to ensure uninterrupted product quality.
Work closely with the Production team to resolve quality-related issues and support the consistent production of high-quality cement.
Investigate abnormal test results, identify potential quality deviations, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Prepare, maintain, and preserve laboratory records, test reports, calibration records, and other quality documentation for operational and audit purposes.
Ensure proper handling, storage, maintenance, and safety of laboratory chemicals, reagents, equipment, and testing instruments.
Perform water testing, reagent preparation, and standardization activities in accordance with laboratory procedures.
Maintain laboratory housekeeping by implementing 5S practices and ensuring a safe, clean, and organized working environment.
Prepare daily, monthly, and periodic quality reports, including production quality trends, laboratory performance, and wastage analysis to support continuous process improvement.
