∎ Minimum of 5 years of experience in screen printing or placement printing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
∎ Strong knowledge of screen printing techniques, equipment, and materials. Familiarity with garment types and their compatibility with different printing methods. Ability to troubleshoot printing machinery and resolve technical issues.
∎ Proven experience managing and leading a team. Ability to motivate staff, foster a collaborative work environment, and handle performance management.
∎ Excellent eye for detail, ensuring prints are consistent and meet design specifications.
∎ Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with cross-functional teams, including designers, production staff, and upper management.
∎ Ability to analyze complex problems and implement solutions in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Job Summary:
∎ The Manager of Screen/Placement Printing is responsible for overseeing all aspects of screen printing and placement printing for garment production. This includes managing the printing process, ensuring quality control, coordinating with design teams, and leading a team of operators to meet production goals. The manager will be responsible for maintaining the efficiency of the printing process, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and troubleshooting any issues that arise during production. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in screen/placement printing, and an understanding of garment production processes.
∎ Key Responsibilities:
∎ Lead the screen printing and placement printing processes for garment production, ensuring timely and high-quality output. Supervise and direct printing staff to meet production targets and deadlines.
∎ Monitor the quality of the prints and the consistency of designs on garments. Ensure that the print quality meets the company’s standards, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
∎ Continuously analyze and improve the printing process to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Troubleshoot any equipment or technical issues to minimize downtime.
∎ Manage and lead a team of screen printing operators, technicians, and assistants. Provide training, mentorship, and development opportunities to team members, ensuring adherence to safety and operational procedures.
∎ Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and repair of screen printing equipment and machinery. Ensure that all equipment is in optimal working condition and coordinate with maintenance teams when repairs are needed.
∎ Collaborate with the design and production teams to ensure proper placement and alignment of artwork on garments. Interpret design specifications and adjust screen printing processes to ensure accurate replication of designs.
∎ Manage inventory of printing materials, including inks, screens, chemicals, and other supplies. Track usage and make recommendations for reordering to ensure production continuity.
∎ Maintain production records and reports related to screen printing processes, including quantities produced, materials used, quality checks, and downtime. Provide regular updates to management on department performance and improvement initiatives.
∎ Work closely with the production, design, and inventory teams to ensure smooth coordination between departments and timely completion of orders.
