∎ Bachelors/ Masters in Social Science, Development Studies, Law or any other relevant subject from any reputed university or institute.

∎ Demonstrated skills in donor compliances, information management, Govt. policies, cyber security, skills in MS Office Packages, reporting and documentation,

∎ Able to perform in a fast-paced donor driven project.
∎ Good Team player with strong collaboration and coordination capability
∎ Able to adapt with cultural diversity
∎ KNOWLEDGE:

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Act as a Data Protection Focal, for overseeing an organisation's data protection strategy and ensuring compliance with Data Protection Agreement.
∎ Ensure the standards and basic principles of Personal Data protection are contained in the UN Data Protection Framework and related laws of the Bangladesh government
∎ Ensure data privacy laws, applicable to the processing of Personal Data
∎ Lead the process of collecting and/or processing Personal Data for sharing with UNHCR and other stakeholders, such as government agencies, media, and donors.
∎ Assess and mitigate risks associated with Personal Data processing activities
∎ Develop and implement appropriate technical and organisational measures in compliance with best industry standards to ensure the confidentiality of the Personal Data
∎ Coordinate with different sectors to ensure data privacy/protection laws and develop an efficient data processing and sharing system.
∎ Manage Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), including requests for access, correction, personal data
∎ Conduct training sessions on data privacy best practices and security measures
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
∎ The Data Protection Manager is mainly responsible for acting as the Data Protection Focal for BRAC Humanitarian Crisis Management Programme –(HCMP). This position will ensure the standards and basic principles of Personal Data protection as contained in the Data Protection Agreement -UNHCR,UN Data Protection Framework and related laws of Bangladesh Govt. S/he will also ensure data privacy laws are applicable to processing personal data. S/he will lead the process of collecting and/or processing Personal Data for sharing with UNHCR and other stakeholders like government agencies, media, and donors. Moreover, s/he shall establish and maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures in compliance with best industry standards to ensure the confidentiality of the Personal Data.
