Educational Requirements:
∎ Masters / Bachelors in Communication / Media Relations / Journalism / Sociology / English or any related field from any recognised university / institution with minimum 2nd division/ class or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in all academic examinations

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Communication:
∎ Develop and ensure implementation of communication and advocacy strategy and action plan in line with BRAC and Donor Communication Guidelines and follow up its implementation in coordination with SDP team
∎ Write posts/updates/blogs and provide content (text, photos, design) for publishing in BRAC websites, social media, SDP bulletin and other relevant reports and publications as required (in cooperation with Communications and Advocacy Department)
∎ Write and edit clear and compelling media advisory and press releases, and ensure media coverage in coordination with BRAC's Communication and Advocacy Department
∎ Ensure a regularly updated stock of diverse stories (both in Bengali and English) and high quality photos of the project and relevant events
∎ Provide support in organising events (i.e. dissemination seminar, workshop, motivational boot camp) according to programme needs
∎ Facilitate development of videos, design and print material as per project requirements
∎ Follow up with the communications, advocacy, procurement and other departments as well as external agencies and vendors to ensure deliverables are on schedule
∎ Ensure that relevant SDP personnel liaising with partners, donors, and BRAC country officers have communication materials at hand whenever needed
∎ Proofread and edit contents, developed by project staff to be shared internally and externally
∎ Knowledge Management:
∎ Assist in the development of periodic project-specific reports and updates
∎ Assist in developing narrative programmatic report in accordance to donor requirements within specified time
∎ Coordinate closely with M&E staff for data management and MIS to develop capitalisation documents for knowledge management
∎ Ensure proper documentation of project interventions and dissemination of learning
∎ Contribute for developing Terms of Reference and RFPs for project-specific research
∎ Share knowledge products with the wider BRAC family and the results with external audience on various platforms
∎ Additional Responsibilities:
∎ Participate in different forums for knowledge management and experience sharing
∎ Provide support, as required, by supervisor or director and represent them and SDP if needed
∎ Ensure acquisition and use of knowledge, expertise/skills and capacity on new tools and techniques as and when required
∎ Ensure that all materials and documents focus properly on SDP's cross-cutting themes
∎ Work closely with SDP communications focal, BRAC communications and advocacy unit as and when necessary
∎ Coach and support staff to develop presentations, speeches and talking points
∎ Safeguarding:
∎ Establish a safeguarding culture across all level of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 4-5 years' experience in knowledge management and communication for a national or an international development organisation
∎ Knowledge on socio economic context of the country in general and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Education system, National Skills Development Policy, National Education Policy,
∎ National Non-Formal Education Policy, national guidelines on TVET and Skills Development in particular will be an asset
∎ Conversant in analytical writing for a development/non-profit organisation, on economic and social issues, change communications, public affairs or other related field within the international development sectors
∎ Demonstrable experience of communications, from concepts to campaigns; experience in development communication materials will be an added advantage
∎ Sound knowledge and working experience of different communication tools and platforms
∎ Demonstrable experience of publishing high quality posts, blogs, and reports.
∎ Strong networking and interpersonal skills
∎ Experience in report writing and documentation will be an asset
∎ Excellent communication skills in both Bangla and English, with fluency in public speaking and writing skills for content development
∎ Excellent computer and relevant technical skills for material development (including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop etc)
∎ In-depth empirical and analytical understanding on key development issues in the context of urban and rural Bangladesh
∎ Excellent team player attitude with analytical, organisational and project management capabilities
∎ Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills being proactive, flexible and highly creative
