∎ A Textile Knitting Master plays a crucial role in the production process within a textile manufacturing unit, particularly in the knitting department. This professional oversees the operation of knitting machines, ensures fabric quality, and manages a team of machine operators and technicians. The role demands technical expertise in knitting technology, machine maintenance, and production planning, along with leadership and problem-solving skills.
∎ 🎯 Key Responsibilities:
∎ 1. Machine Operation & SupervisionOperate and monitor circular, flatbed, or warp knitting machines.Ensure machines are running efficiently and producing fabric according to specifications.Troubleshoot machine issues and coordinate repairs or maintenance.
∎ 2. Production Planning & ExecutionPlan daily and weekly knitting schedules based on production targets.Allocate resources and manpower effectively to meet deadlines.Monitor production output and adjust processes to optimize efficiency.
∎ 3. Quality ControlInspect knitted fabrics for defects such as holes, uneven tension, or color inconsistencies.Implement quality assurance protocols and corrective actions.Maintain records of quality checks and production metrics.
∎ 4. Team ManagementTrain and supervise knitting machine operators and helpers.Ensure adherence to safety standards and operational procedures.Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
∎ 5. Technical ExpertiseSelect appropriate yarns and machine settings for different fabric types.Recommend improvements in knitting techniques and machinery.Stay updated with new knitting technologies and industry trends.
∎ 6. Inventory & Material HandlingMonitor yarn inventory and coordinate with the procurement team.Ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials and finished goods.
∎ 7. Reporting & DocumentationMaintain detailed logs of machine performance, production data, and downtime.Prepare reports for management on productivity, quality, and maintenance.
