∎ Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or any relevant subject from any UGC approved reputed university/ institute.

Requirements:

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Ensure solar power system and electrical equipment’s functionality.
∎ Preparation of solar system or electrical design drawing, BoQ
∎ Ensure functionality of mechanical equipment i.e. generators, welding machines, submergible pumps, different automobile parts etc.
∎ Check the status of the facilities on regular basis and make a detailed maintenance plan.
∎ Preparation of electrical drawings (AutoCAD), 2D 3D, BoQ/Cost Estimates and Tender documents for installation of electrical and mechanical devices.
∎ Develop technical resources (e.g. strategic framework, standard operating procedures (SOPs), manuals) to guide BRAC WASH Infrastructure interventions, drawing from international best practices, along with field specific observations
∎ Develop and maintain good relationships and lines of communication with relevant local authorities and communities, prior to intervention explaining BRAC role as an NGO and liaising with them during all phases of the project
∎ Extend all possible technical support to other team members and contractors when and where required
∎ Working in harmony with all other project staff and field team for the effective and efficient day-to-day management of the WASH project
∎ Coordinate with other stakeholders on the ground for smooth, efficient and effective implementation of the activities
∎ Preparation of weekly, monthly work plans and operational progress reports
∎ Ensure that all relevant data is well managed and provides an accurate representation of the reality on the ground.
∎ Submit regular reports related to the project’s electrical systems to the Assistant Technical Specialist.
∎ Conduct trainings regarding operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical machineries for beneficiaries and volunteers
∎ Develop and execute a capacity building plan for BRAC (WASH) staff.
∎ Attend and participate in capacity building trainings locally and internationally, if any.
∎ Monitor expenditures, budgets, and track activity expenses; ensure that appropriate action is taken in a timely fashion
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
∎ This position will solely be responsible for the installation and management of all the electrical and mechanical equipment. Additional duties will focus on creating a complete implementation plan and guidelines, a detailed work plan and activities plan, operational procedures, and timely budget expenditures for field-level project activities carried out in collaboration with the project team.
