Responsibilities & Context:
The role involves both floor-level management and data-driven analytical tasks to ensure smooth production flow.
Standard Minute Value (SMV) Calculation: Establishing accurate SMVs for different styles using time studies or GSD (General Sewing Data) methods to determine the labor required for each garment.
Line Balancing: Designing machine and operator layouts to ensure an even flow of work and eliminate "bottlenecks" where garments pile up.
Method Study & Motion Analysis: Observing operator movements to eliminate non-value-added actions, thereby reducing fatigue and increasing speed.
Capacity Planning: Calculating the production capacity of lines to set realistic daily targets vs. actual achievement.
Production Reporting: Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly efficiency reports, including "Work in Progress" (WIP) and non-productive time (NPT) analysis.
Waste Control: Implementing Lean techniques (like 5S or Kaizen) to reduce fabric wastage and sewing defects.
