  • Experience: A minimum of 12+ years of experience in Marketing, Sales, and Merchandising roles within a high-volume, 100% export-oriented RMG environment is essential. Proven experience as a General Manager level is required.

  • Expertise: Deep understanding of international trade practices, buyer compliance requirements, raw material sourcing, and apparel production cycles (woven and knit). In-depth knowledge of fabric composition (textile science) and sophisticated garment costing methods is mandatory.

  • Skills: Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and communication skills. Strong commercial acumen and management experience.

  • Attributes: A results-oriented leader with a strong network within the international apparel buying community.



Responsibilities & Context:

Position Overview: The GM - Marketing & Merchandising will serve as a pivotal link between the organization and its international buyers. This senior leadership role demands extensive experience in international apparel marketing, business development, and end-to-end merchandising management within the RMG sector. The successful candidate will drive strategy for securing new business while ensuring existing orders are executed flawlessly from inquiry to shipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & Marketing: Identify, target, and acquire new international clients and brands for woven and knit garments. Develop strategic marketing plans to penetrate new markets, brands and expand the existing customer base. Should have proper marketing skills to on-board new brands when there is an opportunity.

  • Key Account Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing international buyers, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and repeat business.

  • Merchandising Leadership: Oversee the entire merchandising cycle, from initial sampling and negotiation to order confirmation, production follow-up, and final delivery coordination.

  • Costing & Negotiation: Lead all major negotiations, applying expert knowledge in garment costing, fabric composition, and international market prices to maximize profitability while remaining competitive.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute sales and merchandising strategies aligned with the company`s export goals and production capabilities.

  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate a large team of merchandisers, ensuring efficiency, accountability, and professional development.

  • Pricing & Negotiation: Lead all major negotiations regarding pricing, delivery terms, and order volumes to maximize profitability while remaining competitive in the global market.

  • Market Analysis: Monitor global apparel market trends, competitor activities, and buyer requirements to proactively adjust business strategies.
