• A Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries Science, Food Technology, or a related field is often required.

Required Skills

• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of fish processing techniques, HACCP, and quality control practices.

• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and troubleshooting abilities, along with proficiency in MS Office and production software.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to work in cold, wet, and noisy environments and to spend long hours on the production floor.

• Operational Management: Direct daily production, including receiving raw materials, processing (filleting, smoking, canning), packing, and shipping finished goods.

• Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, such as HACCP, environmental standards, and hygiene protocols to prevent contamination and spoilage.

• Production Planning: Develop, monitor, and adjust production schedules to meet quotas, deadlines, and customer orders.

• Staff Leadership: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate production staff, including supervisors and floor workers, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

• Resource & Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and operation of machinery, ensuring all equipment is functional and efficient, and managing inventory of raw materials and packaging supplies.

• Financial Control: Assist in preparing budgets, monitoring processing costs, and identifying areas for, reducing waste, and improving productivity
