Job Context:
∎ The Fabric Technologist job in our company is a new position. The role will be responsible for actively managing core functions of fabric sourcing, development and setting up the monitoring system to control the produced fabric quality. S/He identifies and penetrates into new opportunities with Suppliers, Vendors and Mills while engaging with Merchandise and Quality teams at the various Far East Offices and the HEMA Support Office (SO) in The Netherlands, to actively achieve our buyer`s needs.
∎ The role will support the HEMA Far East organization at the Office in Dhaka to accomplish the company`s Quality Management Strategy, to monitor standards and improve intrinsic product quality. The incumbent must keep up on sourcing trends and take up initiatives to add value for the buyers at SO.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Report to HEMA FE General Manager Bangladesh office.
∎ Collaborate proactively with Suppliers, Buyers and Merchandisers in identifying core and novel fabrics.
∎ Assess and evaluate the overall capabilities of all Suppliers, Mills & Vendors and make recommendations.
∎ Identify key vendors from various geographic regions, create new relationships with mills/vendors in Asia while strengthening the existing network through ongoing engagement.
∎ Evaluate existing and future material suppliers, to advise Management on performance and corrective actions.
∎ Undertaking quality evaluations of materials and develop guidelines and standards to ensure factories keep performance up to standard.
∎ Maintain and evaluate our quality standards of fabrics, accessories and trims and actively coach our suppliers to achieve the best outcome.
∎ Responsible for setting up and monitoring fabric testing control strategy for all fabrics.
∎ Developing new (sustainable) fabrics with existing and new Suppliers based on trends and buyers request, working closely with the fabric mills
∎ Providing fabric technical support to and partners with Fit Technicians and designers at HQ to understand fit intent and aesthetic ensuring translation into samples with consistency.
∎ Educate and strategize to add value to process improvements.
∎ Work on adhoc projects and tasks as assigned with the General Manager aligned with the vision and strategy of the company.

∎ Solid technical knowledge for product and function, fit, patternmaking, construction expertise, cost engineering, knowledge of manufacturing processes, including market trends for fabric sourcing and development.
∎ Knowledge of Sourcing (i.e. LEAN, Quality, Sustainability, manufacturing processes).
∎ We require you to have the following qualifications:
∎ Minimum 5 years' experience in (International retail sourcing office) Manufacturing/RMG industry, with managerial or project management experience.
∎ Graduate Degree in Textile, Garment or Industrial Engineering or in related field.
∎ Excellent command on written and spoken English.
∎ High attention to detail, data accuracy, prioritization and decision making.
∎ Flexible attitude to change.
