Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Environmental Engineering from a reputable university is mandatory.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of direct, hands-on experience in a sustainability, compliance, or technical role within the textile/apparel industry supply chain (e.g., buying office, or auditor).
Experience working with and verifying documentation, specifically TCs, related to GOTS and Textile Exchange Standards.
Knowledge in BCI Chain of Custody or mass balance system verification.
Experience in social compliance is considered an added value.
Technical Knowledge:
In-depth familiarity and technical expertise with amfori BEPI and the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero program.
Strong understanding of industrial processes and technical solutions for common environmental issues (e.g., ETP/WTP function, boiler efficiency).
Proficient in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting environmental and utility data for targeted interventions (SBTi data collection).
Skills:
Excellent communication, training, and negotiation skills in both English and Bengali.

Sustainable Material and Certification Management (Core Focus)
Sustainable Cotton Integrity: Ensure that all suppliers adhere to HEMA’s policy of using 100% sustainable raw material (including GOTS, Textile Exchange, BCI etc.) for all designated products.
TC Verification: Mandatorily manage the collection, verification, and validity of all relevant TCs for certified materials, including GOTS and Textile Exchange standards (RCS, OCS, GRS, RWS etc.).
BCI Traceability: Monitor and verify the sourcing and traceability requirements for BCI cotton within the supply chain.
Act as the main point of contact for external certification bodies regarding compliance and certificate status, proactively managing any issues like certificate suspension or termination.
Environmental Program Leadership (BEPI, ZDHC, SBTi, Climate Change)
Serve as the key technical resource for all amfori BEPI (Environmental) related activities, ensuring timely completion of risk assessments and monitoring.
Serve as the technical lead for collecting and verifying supplier data required for HEMA’s SBTi reporting and Scope 3 emissions reduction strategy.
Focus on projects that deliver measurable reductions in factory energy consumption and carbon intensity, directly contributing to HEMA’s climate-neutrality goal.
Monitor and drive supplier compliance with HEMA`s Restricted Substance List and the ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substance List/MRSL.
Technical & Compliance Support
Utilize engineering knowledge to review energy, water, and waste efficiency assessments reports for producers.
Develop and monitor corrective and preventive action plans focused on reducing the factories` environmental footprint.
Conduct internal technical factory visits and verify the quantitative data provided by suppliers during the review of a certificate or standard process.
Reporting and Training
Prepare detailed technical reports and progress updates for the global HEMA Sourcing and Sustainability teams, reporting directly to the CSR Manager.
Develop and deliver technical training sessions to factory staff on best practices for resource efficiency and environmental compliance.
