• Must have substantial experience in a leadership position within R&D Sample, Sewing, preferably as Head of R&D Sample & Sewing / HOD-R&D / Senior Manager-R&D / equivalent.

• Strong experience in Woven Workwear and Outerwear is highly preferred.

• Practical experience in Jackets, Coveralls/Overalls, Hunting Wear, Rainwear, Padded/Down Jackets and functional garments will be an advantage.

• Candidates with proven experience in managing a complete R&D Sample & Sewing team and coordinating with multiple cross-functional departments will be preferred.

Texpro Eco Apparel Ltd. is a 100% export-oriented woven workwear and outerwear manufacturing company. We are looking for a highly experienced, technically strong and result-oriented professional to lead our R&D - Sample & Sewing Department.

The incumbent will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the R&D Sample & Sewing function, including new style development, sewing method development, garment construction, technical feasibility, operation breakdown, SMV/SAM improvement, machine & attachment selection, productivity enhancement and successful handover of developed styles to bulk production.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in Woven Workwear, Outerwear, Jackets, Coveralls/Overalls, Hunting Wear, Rainwear, Padded/Down Jackets and other technically complex garments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall R&D - Sample & Sewing Department and ensure timely completion of all development activities.

• Develop and implement effective R&D Sample & Sewing processes, systems, methods and departmental SOPs.

• Lead the development of new styles, new products and technically challenging garments from initial development through production handover.

• Analyze tech packs, buyer specifications, construction details, approved samples and technical comments before starting development.

• Develop appropriate sewing methods, operation sequences, machine selections, attachments, folders and special sewing techniques for each style.

• Ensure proper garment construction, workmanship, appearance, functionality and production feasibility.

• Lead the preparation and review of operation breakdown, SMV/SAM and sewing method sheets in coordination with IE.

• Conduct sewing trials and technical experiments to identify and resolve potential production problems before bulk production.

• Evaluate the feasibility of new styles considering machine availability, manpower, operation sequence, capacity, efficiency, quality and production cost.

• Develop improved sample & sewing methods to increase productivity, efficiency and quality while reducing operation time and manufacturing cost.

• Work closely with Sample, Pattern/CAD, IE, Production, Quality, Planning, Merchandising and Technical teams for smooth development and implementation of new styles.

• Ensure timely technical support to Sample and R&D teams for sample development and buyer approval.

• Establish an effective process for R&D-to-Bulk Production Handover to ensure that approved styles can be produced smoothly and efficiently.

• Provide technical support during the initial stage of bulk production and resolve sewing-related production difficulties.

• Analyze recurring sewing problems, defects, rework and quality issues and establish effective corrective and preventive actions.

• Identify opportunities for method improvement, operation simplification, automation, special attachments and productivity enhancement.

• Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of style-wise R&D records, trial reports, operation breakdowns and technical development information.

• Monitor the performance and development of R&D Sample & Sewing team members and build a technically capable and accountable team.

• Set departmental objectives, responsibilities and performance standards for the R&D Sample & Sewing team.

• Conduct regular review meetings and monitor progress against development plans and deadlines.

• Ensure effective utilization of available machines, equipment, manpower and technical resources.

• Develop innovative sewing solutions for complex constructions and special buyer requirements.

• Support management in cost reduction, productivity improvement, quality enhancement and manufacturing process optimization.

• Maintain close communication with senior management and provide regular reports on R&D progress, technical challenges and development status.

• Ensure all R&D Sample & Sewing activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, SOPs, quality standards and buyer requirements.
