Job Responsibilities:
∎ A Fabric Technologist job in our company is a new position and involves carrying out a range of technical, investigative and quality control work on clothing and textiles, ensuring that quality, ethical & legal standards are met, whether it is womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, fashion accessories or lingerie.
∎ Fabric Technologist within HEMA Bangladesh will:
∎
∎ Work on the development of fabrics,
∎ Improve quality and fit for purpose
∎ Liaise with those involved within HEMA in the bulk manufacturing process
∎ Lead technical requirement of garment wear testing and implementing final execution
∎ Guide, monitor & coach the daily activities of the QC team and planner.
∎ Guide, monitor & coach the Technical & Social Auditor
∎ Educate and strategize to add value to process improvements
∎ Your job role @ HEMA will involve:
∎
∎ Assess whether the fabrics are within the capabilities of machinery, costings and the capabilities of the fabric.
∎ providing fabric technical support to and partners with Fit Technicians and designers at HQ to understand fit intent and aesthetic ensuring translation into samples with consistency
∎ carrying out color testing of fabrics and approving lab dips
∎ sourcing fabrics and trims
∎ developing new fabrics based on fashion trends and working closely with the fabric mills
∎ undertaking quality evaluations of materials and develop guidelines and standards to ensure factories keep performance up to standard

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 5 years experience in a comparable position for a successful sourcing or retail company.
∎ You are passionate about leading and driving a team to create innovative products
∎ Extensive technical knowledge for product and function, fit, patternmaking, construction expertise, cost engineering and knowledge fo manufacturing processes.
∎ Excellent communication skills in English
∎ High attention to detail, data accuracy and prioritization
∎ Flexible attitude to change
