Experience and Educational Requirements

• Graduate in Business Administration in Supply Chain Management, Accounting or Finance

• PGDSCM will be an added advantage

• At least 5-7 years` experience in Apparel Manufacturing industry in Commercial/Logistics department in a reputed buying office is a MUST.

• Applicants having work experience with the following buyers will be given preference: H&M, M&S, Matalan, C&A, Target, Kappa, Lotto, Mango, Walmart, VF-Asia, Carrefour etc.

• The applicant should have in-depth knowledge of Customs and Tax rules related to Export and Import, international payment methods through banks / financial institutions, duty structures, foreign exchange guidelines with relation to import/export activities and basic shipping terms.

Job Context

The Executive – Logistics and Commercial holds the accountability for the execution and coordination of the logistics/commercial operations relating to various customer accounts for garment exports from Bangladesh in close collaboration with internal and external parties.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing and archiving of all pre and post shipment documents.

• Maintain Time & Action plan and keep proper records of all Letter of Credit (L/C), payments etc.

• Prepare invoice and packing list (manually, in online portal and in MIS)

• Submit shipment booking with forwarder on time as per ZXY Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

• Closely monitor suppliers and ensure booking is submitted with forwarder as per SOP

• Maintain excellent communication and negotiation with all concerned parties

• Closely follow-up and track shipment status in liaison with factory and ZXY merchandising team

• Maintain and develop good relationships with customer commercial department and factory commercial department

• Ensure shipment handover to forwarder as per schedule (cut-off date)

• Ensure document and Bill of Lading (BL)/ House Airway Bill (HAWB) are collected from shipper and forwarder on time

• Assist in all L/C types and related operations, including coordination with bank and insurance, Cost and Freight (C&F) and custom formalities and amendments etc. as and when required

• Share shipping information with customers within pre-agreed timelines

• Prepare bank documents ensuring accuracy in figures

• Ensure shipper submits all required documents to the bank on time as per SOP

• Prepare factory payment details and release the payment on time

• Assist to improve lead time, reduce sourcing and logistics costs

• Taking corrective actions accordingly against required any discrepancy regarding L/C

• Maintain shipment records, discount adjustment records, and update all logistical data in MIS
