Responsibilities & Context:

  • Implement, monitor, and maintain Environmental Management System (EMS) in compliance with ISO 14001 and other relevant standards.

  • Ensure compliance with local environmental laws, buyer requirements and international regulations.

  • Maintain environmental permits, licenses, and regulatory documentation.

  • Coordinate EMS internal & external audits and ensure corrective actions.

  • Prepare and maintain all EMS-related documentation, procedures, record and report.

  • Control internal audits, risk assessments and gap analysis for environmental compliance.

  • Monitor wastewater treatment plant (ETP) operation and performance.

  • Supervise air emission, noise, water, and chemical management controls.

  • Monitor waste management, segregation, storage, disposal, and recycling systems.

  • Track resource consumption (water, electricity, fuel, chemicals).

  • Maintain EMS records, SOPs, procedures, and legal registers.

  • Prepare monthly environmental performance reports.

  • Maintain chemical inventory, MSDS, and compliance documentation.

  • Submit compliance reports to management and buyers.

  • Coordinate buyer audits (M&S, Inditex, C&A, etc.) related to environment.

  • Prepare audit documents and implement CAP (Corrective Action Plan).

  • Ensure environmental compliance for WRAP, OEKO-TEX, HIGG (FEM), BSCI, SEDEX, ISO, GRS, RCS audits.

  • Conduct environmental awareness training for employees.

  • Develop training materials on waste reduction, chemical safety, and energy conservation.

  • Implement energy-saving, water-saving, and waste reduction projects.

  • Lead environmental improvement initiatives.

  • Track sustainability KPIs and improvement plans.

  • Lead external audits and buyer compliance assessments related to environment and sustainability.

  • Monitor factory environmental performance including waste management, effluent treatment, energy consumption, water usage, and chemical management.

  • Coordinate with ETP, utility, engineering, production, and compliance teams to ensure environmental control.

  • Provide training and awareness programs for employees on environmental policies and best practices.

  • Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual EMS performance reports for management.

  • Liaise with government authorities, certification bodies, and buyers on environmental issues.
