Akij Ceramics Limited (Akij Bashir Group) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Engineer/Sr. Engineer, Utility (ETP), to monitor pH, TDS, COD, BOD, sludge level, chemical dosing, & other treatment parameters and supervise operation of pumps, blowers, agitators, filters, clarifiers, and other ETP equipment for smooth factory operations.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Lead and supervise overall operation of Chemical ETP-I & II with capacities of 240 m³/hr. and 780 m³/hr., along with WTP operations to ensure uninterrupted utility support.

2. Ensure compliance with environmental and water quality standards in accordance with ZDHC, DOE, and other regulatory requirements.

3. Coordinate and manage buyer audits, DOE inspections, and compliance-related activities effectively.

4. Monitor and control key water quality parameters including pH, DO, COD, BOD, TSS, Oil & Grease, and ensure proper reagent preparation and laboratory testing procedures.

5. Prepare, analyze, and monitor daily water balance reports covering intake, process consumption, recycling, losses, and discharge throughout ceramic production operations.

6. Maintain accurate records of total water input sources, department-wise water consumption (body preparation, glazing, kiln cooling, etc.), treated water reuse, and wastewater discharge data.

7. Generate detailed reports on water utilization, recycling efficiency, ETP performance, and sustainability KPIs for management review.

8. Coordinate with production and utility teams to implement water conservation and consumption minimization initiatives.

9. Ensure proper documentation and record management related to ETP operations, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical consumption records, compliance reports, and regulatory submissions.

10. Supervise chemical inventory management, sludge handling, and waste disposal activities while ensuring environmentally compliant practices.

11. Monitor operation and maintenance of ETP/WTP equipment, pumps, pipelines, dosing systems, and treatment units to ensure optimum performance.

12. Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities with the maintenance team to minimize operational downtime.

13. Conduct internal training and awareness programs on ETP operation, water conservation, sludge management, chemical handling, and workplace safety.

14. Ensure implementation and continuous monitoring of 5S practices and housekeeping standards across ETP and utility areas.

15. Supervise ETP operators and support personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and disciplined plant operation.

16. Support sustainability, resource optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives related to water treatment and utility management.
