• Strong problem-solving, leadership, and team-handling & communication skills.

• Knowledge of Kaizen, 5S, and cost reduction techniques.

• Proficiency in MS Office, SAP/ERP (preferred).

Meghna Re-Rolling and Steel Mills Limited (MRSML), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries, is establishing a top-notch steel factory in Bangladesh with the latest European technologies and machinery, having an annual production capacity of 1.5 million MT. The vision of this concern is to produce world-class re-rolling products and billets to meet the growing demand in the local market and to contribute significantly to economic growth through exports around the globe. To achieve this goal, we are seeking dynamic, self-motivated, and technically sound Engineers/Senior Engineers to join the Mechanical Department of the Rolling Mill Plant. The incumbent will be responsible for supervising equipment installation, supporting operations during shift duty, and ensuring preventive and corrective maintenance of all Rolling Mill machinery. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, effective spare parts management, and leadership in handling shift manpower. The candidate must be passionate about machinery, continuous learning, and teamwork, while being adaptable to plant operations. This position is critical for driving reliability, cost reduction, and continuous improvement within the Rolling Mill.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise mechanical installation, alignment, and commissioning of rolling mill equipment and auxiliaries by following design drawings, OEM manuals, and alignment procedures to ensure accurate setup and smooth commissioning.

• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and vendors by reviewing project plans, holding meetings, and cross-checking specifications to ensure installation work complies with design and safety standards.

• Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns during shifts by inspecting faulty components, analyzing root causes, and applying corrective measures to minimize downtime and production loss.

• Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs by following maintenance schedules, OEM guidelines, and condition-monitoring data to maximize equipment reliability and availability.

• Prepare and update maintenance schedules by reviewing machine performance, consulting with senior engineers, and tracking previous records to plan timely interventions and avoid unexpected failures.

• Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities by recording job completion reports, service checklists, and logbooks to maintain accurate history for audits and analysis.

• Check spare parts consumption and availability by tracking inventory, comparing usage trends, and raising requisitions to ensure continuous supply and prevent equipment downtime.

• Coordinate with stores and procurement teams by sharing requirement lists, prioritizing urgent spares, and verifying deliveries to ensure timely availability of critical parts.

• Supervise shift manpower including technicians and contract workers by assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring discipline to complete jobs safely and efficiently.

• Prepare and submit shift-wise and daily maintenance reports by collecting breakdown details, work completion status, and spares usage data to update senior management/HOD for decision-making.

• Maintain equipment history records and breakdown analysis reports by compiling logbooks, analyzing failure patterns, and preparing preventive maintenance logs to track machine health and prevent recurring issues.

• Assist in audits and ISO/5S documentation by updating checklists, maintaining compliance records, and following audit guidelines to meet certification and regulatory requirements.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen) by suggesting process modifications, implementing small projects, and involving team members to enhance equipment performance and reduce operating costs.

• Analyze breakdown trends by reviewing downtime data, identifying repetitive faults, and applying corrective measures to eliminate recurring issues and improve machine life.

• Conduct risk assessments before maintenance activities by identifying hazards, preparing mitigation plans, and briefing staff to ensure safe execution of jobs.

• Promote safety awareness among shift staff by conducting training, sharing safety alerts, and encouraging reporting of unsafe acts to build a strong safety culture in the workplace.
