Experience:

Meghna Re-Rolling and Steel Mills Limited (MRSML), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries is going to establish a top-notch steel factory in Bangladesh with the latest European technologies and machinery having a production capacity of 1.5 million MT per annum. The vision of this concern is to produce world-class re-rolling products and billets, which will meet the uprising demand in the local market and will also bring significant economic growth by exporting around the globe. We are looking for competent Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) to support the operation and reliability of the plant’s electrical and substation systems. The position is responsible for ensuring proper installation, commissioning, and maintenance of high-voltage substations, protection relays, switchgear, and automation systems to maintain an uninterrupted power supply for continuous steel manufacturing operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain protection relay systems manufactured by Schneider Electric, ABB, and Siemens by configuring relay parameters, performing functional testing, and verifying protection settings to ensure reliable fault detection and protection of transformers and feeders.
Configure and test transformer differential protection, feeder protection relays, numerical protection relays, and trip circuit supervision systems by verifying relay settings (50, 51, 50N, 51N, 95, 86, 27, 59, 87T) and conducting relay injection testing to ensure proper fault isolation and system stability.
Install, commission, and maintain 33/11/0.415 kV GIS and AIS substations and switchgear by inspecting electrical connections, performing operational checks, and monitoring system performance to ensure reliable power distribution across plant facilities.
Maintain electrical equipment including SF6 circuit breakers, VCB, ACB, PFI/PFC systems, reactors, busbars, and busbar trunking systems by conducting routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and fault diagnosis to minimize equipment failure and plant downtime.
Inspect and maintain revenue energy meters, DC battery systems, and auxiliary power systems by performing voltage checks, load verification, and system testing to ensure uninterrupted operation of protection and control systems.
Prepare AutoCAD drawings, BOQ, and project cost estimates by analyzing plant electrical requirements and technical specifications to support electrical installations, upgrades, and expansion projects.
Plan and supervise MV XLPE cable selection, routing, and termination by reviewing load calculations, cable specifications, and installation practices to ensure safe and efficient electrical power transmission.
Maintain earthing systems, lightning protection systems (LPS), and grounding networks by measuring earth resistance and verifying grounding connections to ensure safety of personnel and protection of electrical equipment.
Develop and troubleshoot PLC-based Substation Automation Systems (SAS) and SCADA systems by configuring control logic, monitoring system performance, and resolving communication or automation faults to ensure effective real-time monitoring and control of plant electrical systems.
Coordinate with plant operations and maintenance teams during electrical shutdowns and maintenance activities by planning work schedules, supervising technical tasks, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures to maintain uninterrupted production operations.
