∎ Projahnmo Research Foundation (PRF) in association with Johns Hopkins University, USA has a long and illustrious history of conducting research in Bangladesh. PRF`s research has contributed to improvement of health of Bangladeshi citizens and has supported the career development of numerous Bangladeshi public health professional. Projahnmo Research Foundation is Implementing an "Implementation Research to Scale-up and Evaluate the Impact of Antenatal Corticosteroids (ACS) on Preterm Newborn Outcomes`` in Manikganj district. The objective of study is to understand the challenges and opportunities in implementing the specific WHO criteria for ACS use, develop effective programmatic solutions, and apply them in LMIC contexts to achieve high coverage of safe ACS use in the context of improved childbirth and newborn care. This multi-country implementation research study will use a mixed-methods design, including both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. Projahnmo Research Foundation is seeking qualified and motivated applicants from Bangladeshi nationals for the position of District Manager (DM) for the study.
∎ Duty station: Manikganj District, Dhaka.
∎ Job Nature: Fixed term
∎ The appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 1 year but may be extended for further period depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funds
Job Responsibilities:
∎ 1. Effective planning and implementation of project activities in assigned area
∎ Build and nurture effective teamwork to ensure that the study activities are implemented in close collaboration with GoB district and upazila, and private providers.
∎ Play a leading role in developing Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) for each FY; updated quarterly and monitor progress in respect to specific deliverables and time frame.
∎ 2. Coordination and liaise
∎ Coordinate and maintain liaison with local MOH & FW (DGHS and DGFP), clinical providers and administrative/management authorities (district hospital/medical college, Upazila Health Complex, Civil Surgeon's office etc) for smooth implementation of activities at the implementation area
∎ Coordinate and maintain liaison with private provider/managers specially ACSIR implementation facility, professional organizations (OBGYN/Pediatricians/ Neonatologist/sonologists), and other relevant stakeholders in the catchment area
∎ Provide management support for organizing training for MOH & FW staff & others
∎ Facilitate facility preparedness including procurement of required equipment and supplies
∎ 3. Monitoring, supervision, and reporting:
∎ Supervise daily activities of staff and check for credibility and trustworthiness of activities.
∎ Organize, facilitate, and conduct periodic team meetings and training at the local level.
∎ Collate data and prepare progress reports (weekly/fortnightly/monthly), as required.
∎ 4. Administrative, financial, and other responsibilities
∎ Ensure proper and optimum use of project logistics, including data forms, tab, laptop/desktop computer, etc.
∎ Review and manage monthly field expenses and supporting documents
∎ Ensure proper documentation, and archiving records.
∎ Participate in meetings, trainings, seminars and workshops as required by the program and organization
∎ 5. General
∎ Arrange visits for internal and external visitors.
∎ Ensure the Security and Logistics of the office.
∎ Represent PRF as required and uphold values of the organization.
∎ Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years of relevant working experience including 3 years in a management position.
∎ Sound knowledge on Bangladesh newborn and child health situation, excellent technical knowledge on child health programming and good understanding of MOHFW health care delivery system.
∎ Candidates having working experience in research will be given preference.
∎ Computer skills in MS word, excel and power point. Familiarity with statistical software will be an added advantage.
∎ Should be able to communicate effectively both in Bangla and English.
∎ Should be willing to work at night, including weekends and holidays (if needed).
∎ Should be willing to accept challenges and able to handle multiple tasks at a time.
∎ Agreement to spend at least 70% of time in the field is an essential requirement.

∎ 88,031/- per month including house rent and conveyance allowance and other admissible
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ 12% retirement fund contribution by PRF will be given as per organizational policy.
