Responsibilities & Context:
Develop creative design concepts aligned with seasonal themes, brand identity, and market demand. Translate abstract ideas into tangible fabric design directions for knitwear and seamless attires collections.
Conduct extensive market research and analyze global fashion trends, color forecasts, customer preferences, and competitor products to inform design direction and innovation.
Create detailed sketches and digital illustrations of knit fabric designs, seamless product design, motifs, textures, and repeat patterns using CAD software and hand-drawn techniques.
Identify and select appropriate yarns, knitting- seam/seamless techniques, finishes, and trims to ensure the desired texture, drape, and performance of the knit fabric.
Collaborate with product developers, merchandisers, production, and technical teams to ensure design feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with product strategy.
Oversee sample creation by coordinating with in-house or external sampling units. Review and evaluate prototypes, ensuring they meet the desired aesthetics, quality standards, and specifications.
Prepare comprehensive technical packs and design specifications including measurements, construction details, fabric compositions, knitting gauges, and colorways for production teams.
Present design concepts, mood boards, and final collections to internal teams or clients through compelling visual displays and storytelling that highlight design intent and innovation.
