Responsibilities & Context:

  • Manage the complete order lifecycle, including product development, sample execution, costing, order confirmation, bulk production, and final shipment, while effectively managing a production portfolio of up to 200,000 pieces per day across multiple styles and production lines.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for international buyers by managing communications related to product development, technical specifications, approvals, amendments, order status, delivery schedules, and shipment updates.

  • Prepare preliminary and final product cost sheets (CM/CMX) by analyzing fabric consumption, trims, accessories, washing, printing, embroidery, packing, overhead, and logistics costs to ensure competitive pricing and target profitability.

  • Negotiate prices, commercial terms, and cost settlements with buyers, suppliers, and manufacturing units to achieve business objectives while maintaining product quality.

  • Review and validate Bills of Materials (BOM), fabric consumption, and material utilization to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve production efficiency.

  • Monitor order profitability throughout the production cycle by evaluating cost variances, controlling material wastage, and recommending cost optimization initiatives.

  • Coordinate with sourcing, procurement, and planning teams to ensure the timely procurement and availability of fabrics, trims, and accessories at competitive costs.

  • Manage the complete sample development process, including sample booking, material planning, accessories allocation, quality verification, buyer approvals, and timely submission.

  • Develop style-wise material projections and coordinate with the store and bond departments to monitor inventory levels and ensure material availability.

  • Source trims and accessories, negotiate pricing, place purchase bookings, and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time material delivery.

  • Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) and collaborate closely with production teams to optimize workflow, identify bottlenecks, improve production efficiency, and achieve On-Time Delivery (OTD).

  • Coordinate with the commercial department to ensure timely LC processing, export documentation, shipment booking, and successful execution of shipments.

  • Work closely with production, quality assurance, planning, sourcing, commercial, sales, and marketing teams to ensure smooth execution of orders from development through shipment.

  • Conduct regular factory floor visits to monitor production progress, verify quality standards, resolve production issues, and ensure adherence to production plans.

  • Ensure all fabrics, trims, accessories, and finished garments comply with buyer specifications, approved samples, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and quality requirements.

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve technical, quality, and production-related issues by implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Analyze sales performance, customer feedback, market trends, and competitor activities to support merchandising strategies and recommend innovative products, fabrics, trims, and value-added developments.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly merchandising, production, quality, and shipment reports, ensuring timely communication with buyers and management.

  • Support shipment planning by coordinating production readiness, documentation, logistics, and shipment schedules to ensure timely delivery.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with buyers, suppliers, factories, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and successful order execution.

  • Utilize ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) for order management, costing, inventory monitoring, reporting, and data analysis.

  • Maintain a professional and collaborative working environment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and performing any other merchandising-related responsibilities assigned by management.
