Responsibilities & Context:
Merchandiser Job Responsibilities
Communicate with buyers regarding product requirements, orders, and updates.
Develop products based on buyer specifications and samples.
Prepare and follow up on costing, quotations, and order confirmations.
Coordinate with sourcing teams to procure fabrics, trims, and accessories.
Monitor production planning and ensure orders are completed on schedule.
Follow up with production, quality assurance, and shipping departments.
Track the critical path from order placement to final shipment.
Ensure products meet buyer quality standards and compliance requirements.
Resolve production, quality, or delivery issues promptly.
Maintain accurate order records, reports, and documentation.
Coordinate sample development (fit, PP, size set, shipment samples, etc.).
Negotiate prices and delivery schedules with suppliers when required.
Monitor inventory of materials to avoid production delays.
Ensure timely shipment and prepare necessary export documentation in coordination with the logistics team.
Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Key Skills Required
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Knowledge of garment manufacturing processes
Understanding of fabrics, trims, and quality standards
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
Problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
