Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Provide technical and management support in the organizational development of the aggregation center/collection center and team management to ensure effective project implementation
∎ Lead the market linkage team to develop and implement market systems to support sustainable rural economic growth
∎ Establish and manage aggregation centers, ensuring their effective operation and alignment with project goals
∎ Coordinate with stakeholders to improve value chains and promote inclusive market systems development. Build and strengthen market linkages, particularly with WFP-supported initiatives such as Fresh Food Corners (FFC)
∎ Monitor and evaluate the performance of aggregation centers and market linkages to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and project KPIs
∎ Prepare comprehensive project implementation plans, including monthly budget breakdowns and budget tracking systems
∎ Conduct regular market visits, monitor prices, and develop price charts to guide market interventions. Identify relevant market actors and potential enterprises, assess markets, and create detailed value chain maps
∎ Develop and implement market linkage plans that connect pre-identified buyers with producers or suppliers
∎ Identify and address challenges within the marketing system, taking proactive measures to resolve issues effectively
∎ Facilitate team meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved on schedule
∎ Perform risk assessments and implement risk management strategies to minimize project-related risks. Track and evaluate project performance to ensure the successful completion of both short- and long-term goals
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
∎ The Deputy Project Manager will provide comprehensive management and technical support to ensure the effective implementation of projects, with a focus on strengthening market linkages and supply chains. The role emphasizes fostering continuous coordination and collaboration with the private sector and other relevant stakeholders to achieve project objectives and drive sustainable rural economic growth.
