Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Development of guidelines for camp re-planning, including zoning and land-use principles with the help of Senior Officer, Settlement Planning.
∎ Collect, analyze and verify field data and prepare detailed land-type zoning maps and block-level site plans.
∎ Plan rationalized facility distribution, ensuring equitable access to services with the help of Senior Officer, Settlement Planning.
∎ Integrate fire safety, drainage networks, and re-greening measures into site designs.
∎ Collaborate with funding agencies, as well as WASH, NRM, Health, Education, Protection, and Shelter-CCCM Sector, and other stakeholders to align plans with sectoral guidelines and community needs.
∎ Participate in workshops, meetings, and field visits to gather input and validate designs.
∎ Collect and analyze required field level data with field movement at camp level and conduct site assessments to understand topography, hazards, and settlement dynamics.
∎ Collaborate with the Manager, Site Planning, to provide data-driven insights and support strategic decision-making processes.
∎ Prepare structured plans detailing land use, accessibility, communal spaces, and hazard mitigation strategies.
∎ Maintain accurate records and provide regular progress updates to supervisor.

∎ Ensure the safety of program participants, individuals who come into contact with the organization, and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA), in order to achieve the program's safeguarding goals. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding to establish a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote, and endorse the safeguarding policy among team members, ensuring the implementation of safeguarding standards in all actions.

∎ The Deputy Manager, Settlement Planning will lead a small a group of two Senior Officer, Settlement Planning to the development of site plans for refugee camps in Cox's Bazar, focusing on optimizing land use, improving safety, and ensuring equitable access to services. The role involves site assessments, stakeholder coordination, and the creation of detailed land-use plans to address overcrowding and environmental hazards. This position is critical for sustainable camp management and enhanced refugee well-being.
