As part of our growth, we are looking for a Deputy Manager – Product Development to lead and strengthen our product development team.
Role Summary
As the Deputy Manager – Product Development, you will lead the footwear development team and oversee the entire lifecycle of product creation—from concept to production readiness. You will work closely with design, sourcing, merchandising, and manufacturing teams to ensure timely and cost-effective development of innovative, high-performing footwear collections.
Responsibilities :
Lead and manage the footwear product development team across multiple categories (e.g., men’s, women’s, kids).
Oversee the complete product development cycle: concept, prototyping, sampling, testing, and approvals.
Collaborate with the design team to review and translate concepts into technically sound, production-ready styles.
Source materials, components, and collaborate with vendors and factories to ensure quality and feasibility.
Manage timelines and critical path to meet seasonal calendars and launch deadlines.
Review fit, functionality, and wear testing results; implement improvements where needed.
Ensure product development aligns with brand aesthetics, price targets, and quality benchmarks.
Partner with merchandising and planning teams to ensure assortments meet commercial and trend objectives.
Lead sample reviews, costing discussions, and tech pack finalizations with factories.
Continuously optimize processes and workflows for team efficiency and cross-functional collaboration.
Mentor and guide junior developers to build a strong internal development capability.
