Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assist in the development and revision of the Child Protection Sub-Sector (CPSS) contribution to the Joint Response Plan (JRP), ensuring alignment with global child protection standards and priorities
∎ Support in organizing JRP consultations and planning workshops with key stakeholders, including UN agencies, INGOs, NGOs, and government counterparts
∎ Prepare briefing notes and presentations on CPSS achievements and gaps for JRP mid-year and annual reviews
∎ Support the development and implementation of the CPSS work plan and strategies
∎ Provide guidance on child protection standards, policies, and best practices to CPSS members
∎ Contribute to the development of technical tools and resources to support child protection activities
∎ Support efforts to mobilize resources for child protection initiatives
∎ Assist the CPSS Coordinator in facilitating regular CPSS meetings, ensuring active participation from all relevant stakeholders
∎ Promote effective communication and collaboration among CPSS members, including UN agencies, NGOs, and government bodies
∎ Support cross-sectoral collaboration by engaging with other sectors and cross cutting issues focal points or coordinators
∎ Assist in identifying capacity-building needs and organizing relevant training sessions for stakeholders
∎ Support capacity-building initiatives for CP caseworkers and frontline staff through planning and organizing training sessions and workshops with CMTWG
∎ Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and technical discussions on child protection issues with all CPSS partners
∎ Support the collection, analysis, and dissemination of child protection data to inform strategic decision-making
∎ Assist in maintaining up-to-date records of CPSS activities, achievements, and challenges
∎ Contribute to regular reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
∎ Support the drafting and consolidation of CPSS periodic reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) based on inputs from partners and working groups
∎ Support analysis of collected data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for strategic improvement in child protection programming
∎ Develop situation updates, success stories, and lessons learned to showcase CPSS impact and advocate for further support
∎ Coordinate with the Information Management team to ensure accurate data representation in reports
∎ Represent the CPSS in relevant forums and coordination meetings as delegated by the CPSS Coordinator
∎ Facilitate collaboration between different working groups to ensure a coordinated and harmonized approach to case management
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
∎ The CPSS CP Senior Officer/ Manager, Technical will support the CPSS Coordinator in leading, coordinating, and providing technical assistance to child protection initiatives. This role ensures a harmonized approach to child protection among various stakeholders and contributes to the effective delivery of services to children and their families.
∎ Strategic Planning & Contribution to Joint Response Plan (JRP):
