Compliance Officer to oversee Architectural and structural compliance requirements in terms of Building and Fire safety of RMG factory building construction process located in Mirsharai Economic Zone. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with BNBC 2020, RSC requirements, building construction safety standards, fire & electrical safety protocols, and regulatory compliance requirements applicable to factories operating within Economic Zones / BEPZA / EPZ environments. 

The ideal candidate should possess practical knowledge of industrial building safety, remediation follow-up, factory compliance audits, and coordination with engineers, contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities. 

Key Responsibilities 

Structural & Building Compliance 

• Ensure factory buildings comply with Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC) and all applicable structural safety standards.  

• Monitor structural integrity, construction quality, load management, and building usage compliance.  

• Coordinate structural assessments, remediation activities, and retrofitting works as required.  

• Maintain compliance with documentation related to structural drawings, permits, approvals, occupancy certificates, and engineering reports.  

RSC & Safety Compliance 

• Ensure compliance with requirements of RMG Sustainability Council (RSC).  

• Coordinate remediation activities related to fire, electrical, and structural safety findings.  

• Liaise with RSC inspectors, consultants, engineers, and auditors during inspections and verification visits.  

• Track CAP (Corrective Action Plan) progress and ensure timely closure of findings.  

Construction & Project Safety 

• Monitor ongoing construction, renovation, and expansion activities to ensure compliance with approved safety standards.  

• Ensure contractors and vendors follow workplace safety procedures during civil, electrical, and mechanical works.  

• Conduct regular site inspections to identify unsafe conditions and compliance gaps.  

• Verify safe work practices including height safety, electrical isolation, confined space entry, and contractor safety management.  

Regulatory & Economic Zone Compliance 

• Ensure factory operations comply with regulations applicable within Economic Zones / BEPZA / EPZ environments.  

• Coordinate with relevant government authorities, zone authorities, consultants, and external agencies when required.  

• Support environmental, health, and safety compliance initiatives related to factory infrastructure.  

Documentation & Audit Management 

• Maintain updated compliance records, reports, inspection logs, and remediation status trackers.  

• Prepare reports for management regarding compliance status, risk findings, and corrective measures.  

• Support internal and external compliance audits.  

• Develop and implement SOPs related to building safety and compliance management.  

Educational Requirements 

• Post Graduation degree in relevant discipline.  

• Additional Training/certifications related to building safety, fire safety, occupational safety, and/or compliance management will be considered an advantage.  

Experience Requirements 

• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in compliance, structural safety, and building safety management within garment/textile/manufacturing industries.  

• Experience working in factories located in Economic Zone / BEPZA / EPZ environments is highly preferred.  

• Prior experience handling RSC remediation and compliance activities is mandatory/preferred.
