Educational Requirements:
∎ Master's /Bachelor's degree in Law, Journalism, or Social Sciences is preferred but NOT mandatory, special considerations will be made depending on the applicant's previous experience in working with marginalized communities.

Job Context:
∎ Project Description: Bangladesh Legal Aid And Services Trust (BLAST) is the leading national non-governmental legal aid and services organization. Recently BLAST implemented the project titled "Our Voices, Our Futures (OVOF)", partnering with BRAC JPGSPH, CREA, and APC. The objective of this project is to identify the issues of discrimination and inequality affecting structurally silenced women belonging to various marginalized communities in Bangladesh, who face exclusion and systemic discrimination due to their identity, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, their chosen form of work, and their activism, and are prevented from freely engaging with the civic space, and participating in legal and policy making spaces, online spaces, and physical public spaces. This includes women from the Dalit community, indigenous community, Hijra and transgender community, and sex workers communities.
∎ Position Description: We invite applications from potential candidates having demonstrated interest in working on women`s rights issues. Candidates from the four abovementioned communities will be given preference for the purposes of this fellowship program. Fellows are expected to identify the specific problems that further marginalize and discriminate against members of each community, by restricting their voices, access to services, access to legal rights, online, and physical spaces, and participation in decision-making processes. S/he will be responsible for submitting a research plan around the specific challenge/issue/problem they have identified, undertaking a small research study to address the same, and developing recommendations to address this issue within the specific community.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Collect evidence, draft fact-finding reports, conduct FGDs, and work as per the methodology of the research to be conducted.
∎ Work on the reporting and documentation of the community-based meetings organized during the fellowship.
∎ Finally, fellows shall have to submit a research report including his/her findings of the research as well as the works done during their fellowship and deliver a final presentation before relevant project personnel, relevant academics, researchers, and rights activists who may be invited to hear the presentation. Finalize the report incorporating the suggestions and disseminate the research report.
∎ Perform other tasks as may be required for the fellowship.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Proficiency in the use of computers is preferred.
∎ Prospective fellows must provide evidence of significant, comparable, and relevant work experience.
∎ Should have significant experience working on women's rights issues.
∎ Applicants must be highly motivated and organized.
∎ Able to work quickly and well under pressure, both independently and as a team member, juggling multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
∎ Strong communication skills and proven experience in interpreting information and report writing in Bangla and English.

Salary:
∎ Monthly stipend BDT 25000 (including conveyance).
