Context:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Commercial Manager to manage all commercial activities related to foreign procurement and purchases. The role is critical in ensuring smooth and cost-effective international procurement operations, handling all aspects from issuing Proforma Invoices (PI) to managing Letters of Credit (L/C), coordinating with international suppliers, and liaising with various trade bodies and financial institutions.
The Commercial Manager will work closely with confirming banks, shipping lines, Customs, VAT departments, and other relevant stakeholders to secure competitive terms and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This position demands an individual who can effectively manage the end-to-end procurement process, from negotiation to payment realization, while continuously seeking ways to streamline operations and reduce costs.
Responsibilities:
Manage all commercial activities related to foreign procurement and purchases, including issuing PI, L/C opening, amendments/corrections, shipment, negotiation, payment realization, and release through phone and email with overseas suppliers.
Effectively perform international procurement tasks, ensuring that all processes are managed efficiently and on time.
Coordinate with confirming banks to secure competitive confirmations for Import L/Cs.
Maintain proper liaison with trade bodies, banks, shipping lines, C&F agents, transport agents, insurance companies, and Customs & VAT departments to ensure smooth operations.
Follow up on Import L/C processes, ensure proper HS codes for timely customs clearance, and implement strategies to reduce additional costs.
Communicate with transport agencies to arrange for the transportation of goods.
Monitor all commercial processes related to foreign purchases to ensure they are executed in a timely and cost-effectively.
Prepare & submit Utilization declarations from respective authorities required to Export goods.
Responsible for renewal of Bond license and annual audit report from customs authorities.
Fully in charge of making correspondence with factories & foreign buyers through e-mail from time to time regarding Export documents.
Follow up on the payment realization & disbursement of the funds after getting the payment.
Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
