  • 10–15 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, commercial operations, or supply chain—preferably in clean-tech, packaging, FMCG, or sustainability sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of Bangladesh’s industrial ecosystem, labor law, trade regulations, and sustainability trends.
  • Proven success in scaling operations, securing certifications, and building resilient supply chains.
  • Proficient in ERP software (SAP, Odoo, EBS365) and strong analytical/reporting tools.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Passionate about circular economy, environmental innovation, and impactful growth.
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally as needed for operations, certifications, and expansion activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bangla.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, resource-constrained startup environment with a scale-up mindset.


Responsibilities & Context:

Ecovia Ltd. is a pioneering clean-tech startup in Bangladesh, committed to transforming post-industrial fabric waste into sustainable, compostable packaging solutions. As we expand locally and globally, we seek a visionary and execution-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) who will not only lead day-to-day operations but also drive long-term strategic growth, innovation, and impact functioning as a key thought partner to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Co-develop and execute Ecovia’s long-term mission, business roadmap, and growth strategy.
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable operational and commercial plans.
  • Cultivate a forward-thinking, purpose-driven culture aligned with sustainability and innovation.

Business Growth & Market Expansion

  • Lead market expansion strategies including international business development, B2B partnerships, and product diversification.
  • Represent Ecovia in industry forums, government dialogues, and sustainability alliances.
  • Identify new opportunities, guide scaling initiatives, and support fundraising and investor engagement when required.

Operational & Supply Chain Excellence

  • Oversee manufacturing operations, both in-house and outsourced, ensuring efficient, timely, and quality-controlled production.
  • Lead procurement, vendor development, logistics, and supply chain optimization.
  • Implement lean operations, reduce waste, and drive cost efficiencies.

Innovation & Certifications

  • Champion the adoption of new materials, technologies, and processes to enhance product innovation and market relevance.
  • Collaborate with R&D and technical teams to build Ecovia’s innovation pipeline.
  • Lead acquisition of key international certifications (e.g., BPI, FSC, TÜV, ISO) to unlock global market opportunities.

Compliance, Sustainability & Governance

  • Ensure strict compliance with Bangladesh Labor Law, HSE standards, and local/international environmental regulations.
  • Lead internal and external audits (BSCI, SEDEX, ISO, GRS), maintaining full documentation and continuous readiness.
  • Drive Ecovia’s ESG goals in line with sustainability frameworks such as UN SDGs or GRI.

Commercial & Financial Oversight

  • Supervise all commercial operations including LC processing, import/export documentation, and customs clearance.
  • Oversee operational budgets, CAPEX/OPEX, and vendor payments in coordination with Finance.
  • Provide timely reporting, risk analysis, and cost optimization recommendations.

Technology, ERP & Automation

  • Ensure effective use and implementation of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Odoo, EBS365) across procurement, inventory, and production.
  • Lead technology adoption initiatives that improve transparency, tracking, and operational agility.

Culture, Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop cross-functional teams across operations, procurement, admin, and compliance.
  • Foster a high-performance, ethical, and inclusive workplace culture aligned with Ecovia’s mission.
  • Build internal leadership capacity and succession readiness.

Stakeholder & Board Collaboration

  • Support the CEO in preparing investor decks, operational updates, and strategic inputs for board meetings.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders including regulators, partners, and institutional allies.

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Work closely with R&D, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Sustainability teams to ensure alignment of business priorities across departments.
