Responsibilities & Context:

Role Summary

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational management of Bengal NFK Textiles Ltd., encompassing both factory and corporate operations. The incumbent will oversee all aspects of spinning mill operations, including production, engineering, quality assurance, maintenance, utilities, cotton procurement, supply chain, sales & marketing, commercial, finance, administration, and human resources.

The role requires a highly experienced Textile Engineer with extensive expertise in spinning mill management, factory operations, manufacturing excellence, yarn development, machinery optimization, utility management, and business strategy. The COO will ensure sustainable growth, operational efficiency, profitability, compliance, and continuous improvement while aligning all business functions with the Company's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Management

• Provide strategic leadership for the overall operations and profitability of the spinning business

• Develop and implement short-term and long-term business strategies, operational plans, and growth initiatives

• Prepare and execute annual business plans, budgets, production targets, and performance improvement programs

• Identify opportunities for business expansion, value-added yarn development, market diversification, and operational excellence

• Regularly present operational, financial, and strategic updates to the Board of Directors

Factory & Spinning Mill Operations Management

• Lead end-to-end spinning mill operations, ensuring optimum productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost competitivenes.

• Direct and monitor all manufacturing processes from bale management, blow room, carding, drawing, simplex, ring spinning, compact spinning, winding, packing, and dispatch operations.

• Ensure achievement of production targets while maintaining quality standards, waste control, and operational efficiency.• Optimize machine utilization, spindle efficiency, labor productivity, and production planning.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve yield, minimize downtime, and enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

• Lead implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, Kaizen, and other productivity enhancement initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with customer specifications and international quality requirements for conventional and value-added yarn products.

Technical, Engineering & Maintenance Leadership

• Provide technical leadership for all spinning operations and engineering functions.

• Ensure optimum performance and maintenance of spinning machinery, including blow room, carding, draw frame, simplex, ring frame, compact systems, autoconer, humidification, and related equipment.

• Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to minimize machine downtime.

• Develop machinery modernization plans, technological upgrades, and automation initiatives to improve productivity and quality.

• Ensure effective spare parts planning, inventory control, and vendor management.

• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of operational and technical issues affecting production performance.

Utility & Infrastructure Management:

• Ensure uninterrupted operation of all utilities including power generation, gas systems, generators, substations, compressors, chillers, boilers, humidification plants, fire safety systems, ETP, and water treatment facilities.

• Monitor utility consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

• Ensure proper maintenance and compliance of all utility and infrastructure systems.

Cotton Procurement & Supply Chain Management

• Develop and execute cotton sourcing and procurement strategies to ensure consistent supply and optimum quality.

• Monitor cotton market trends, global price movements, crop forecasts, and procurement risks.

• Ensure proper bale management, cotton mixing plans, inventory optimization, and raw material utilization.

• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, traders, and logistics partners to ensure supply chain continuity.

Quality Assurance & Product Development

• Ensure compliance with all quality standards and customer requirements.

• Lead initiatives to improve yarn quality, reduce customer complaints, and enhance product consistency.

• Drive development of specialty yarns, value-added products, and innovative spinning solutions based on market demand.

• Monitor quality KPIs including Uster performance, waste levels, efficiency, and customer satisfaction indicators.

Sales, Marketing & Business Development

• Lead sales and marketing strategies to maximize revenue, profitability, and market share.

• Develop and expand domestic and international customer relationships.

• Conduct market intelligence and competitive analysis to identify business opportunities.

• Collaborate with customers regarding new product development, value-added yarn requirements, and technical support.

• Develop pricing strategies aligned with market conditions and profitability objectives.

Commercial & Financial Management

• Oversee all commercial activities including imports, exports, LCs, banking transactions, customs compliance, and trade documentation.

• Monitor financial performance, profitability, cost structures, working capital, and cash flow management.

• Ensure effective budgetary control and cost optimization across all departments.

• Implement financial controls and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.

Human Resources & Administration

• Provide leadership and direction to all functional heads and departments.

• Develop a high-performance culture focused on accountability, productivity, innovation, and continuous learning.

• Ensure effective manpower planning, succession planning, employee engagement, and leadership development.

• Oversee factory administration, security, transport, facility management, and employee welfare programs.

• Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and ethical business practices.

Compliance, Sustainability & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, health, safety, and social compliance standards.

• Lead initiatives related to workplace safety, sustainability, ESG practices, and responsible manufacturing.

• Identify operational and business risks and implement mitigation strategies.

• Ensure readiness for customer audits, compliance audits, certifications, and regulatory inspections.
