Responsibilities & Context:
1. Strategic Financial Leadership
Develop and implement the company's financial strategy aligned with business objectives of a non-life insurance Company.
Advise the CEO and Board on financial planning, profitability, capital allocation, and business growth.
Support strategic initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and expansion plans.
2. Financial Planning & Budgeting
Lead the annual budgeting and business planning process.
Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions.
Prepare financial forecasts and long-term financial projections.
Branch profit monitoring and branch performance Analysis with profit and given marketing target.
3. Financial Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of:
Monthly management accounts.
Quarterly financial reports and submit the same to IDRA, DSE, CSE and other if any.
Annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Present financial performance reports to senior management and the Board.
4. Accounting & Financial Control
Oversee the accounting function and maintain effective internal financial controls.
Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures.
5. Insurance Finance Management
Monitor premium income, claims costs, underwriting expenses, and operating expenses.
Analyze underwriting profitability and combined ratio.
Support pricing and product profitability analysis in collaboration with the underwriting department.
6. Investment & Treasury Management
Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
Oversee investment portfolios in accordance with regulatory guidelines and Board-approved investment policy.
Optimize investment returns while maintaining adequate liquidity.
7. Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with insurance regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance requirements.
Coordinate submission of statutory financial reports to regulators.
Maintain compliance with solvency and capital adequacy requirements.
8. Tax Management
Oversee corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory obligations.
Ensure timely filing of tax returns and compliance with tax regulations.
Manage tax planning and optimize tax efficiency.
9. Risk Management
Identify and monitor financial risks.
Develop strategies to manage liquidity, credit, market, and operational risks.
Support enterprise risk management initiatives.
10. Audit Coordination
Coordinate internal and external audits.
Implement audit recommendations.
Liaise with auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
11. Team Leadership
Lead the Finance & Accounts Department.
Develop and mentor finance personnel.
Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning.
12. Stakeholder Management
Maintain relationships with banks, auditors, regulators, investors, and reinsurers (where financial matters are involved).
Support communication with shareholders and the Board.
