Job Description/Responsibility (At least three must be given)
Maintain accurate and complete books of accounts of the
Company.
Record all financial transactions relating to insurance business and corporate operations.
Maintain the General Ledger, subsidiary ledgers, journals, cash books and bank books.
Ensure proper accounting of premium income, salary, claims, reinsurance transactions, investments, operating expenses and other income.
Perform periodic reconciliation of general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
Ensure timely closing of monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual accounts.
Maintain proper supporting documents and audit trails for all financial transactions.
Account for gross written premium, premium receivable, premium refunds and cancellations.
Account for reinsurance premiums, commission, recoveries, claims and outstanding balances.
Provide financial information to the Board, Management and relevant Board Committees.
Assist in preparation of the Company's Annual Report.
Ensure compliance with applicable insurance laws, regulations, rules, circulars and regulatory reporting requirements.
Prepare and submit financial and regulatory statements within prescribed deadlines.
Maintain records required by the insurance regulatory and other statutory authorities.
Coordinate with regulatory authorities, external auditors and other relevant bodies as required.
Prepare financial MIS for Management and the Board.
Provide information on premium income, claims, expenses, receivables, investments, cash flow and profitability.
Prepare branch-wise and business-segment-wise financial analysis.
Provide timely financial information for decision-making.
