Responsibilities & Context:
Manage high level technical advice and support to projects, programs and operational areas on environmental issues, including environmental impact assessment, environmental management and sustainability.
Identify environmental risks and issues for projects and interdependencies and recommend appropriate risk management strategies and interventions to minimise risk.
Provide strategic advice to project, program and operational teams on environmental responsibilities and identify training needs, contribute to the development of environmental programs and knowledge sharing and deliver environmental education, to assist compliance with legislative requirements. 1
Provide support and guidance to projects, programs and operational teams to drive recognition and implementation of their environment management accountabilities.
Manage the review of environmental management plans, reports, assessments and other strategies relating to projects and programs and provide technical input, as required, on environmental issues, including resolution of complex problems.
Support projects, programs and operations and monitor activities to ensure client areas implement relevant environment and sustainability principles at all stages of the asset and project lifecycle, from concept and development through to delivery and operation.
As required, manage the preparation and ongoing administration of relevant environmental contracts for projects, including working with multi-disciplinary project teams and contractors.
Where applicable, manage NSW Environment Protection Authority licenses and monitor environmental practices to ensure required certification and compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
