Responsibilities & Context:

Production Planning and Coordination:

  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Coordinate with the planning, merchandising, and procurement teams to ensure production alignment with order specifications.
  • Adjust production plans as needed to account for changes in orders, resources, or machinery availability.

Supervision and Team Management:

  • Lead and manage production teams, including line supervisors, quality controllers, and factory workers.
  • Ensure clear communication of daily and weekly targets to the production team.
  • Train, motivate, and mentor staff to achieve productivity and quality targets.

Quality Control and Assurance:

  • Establish and enforce quality standards to ensure finished goods meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with the quality assurance (QA) team to conduct inspections at various stages of production.
  • Implement corrective actions in case of quality deviations to prevent defective outputs.

Resource and Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and manage raw material inventory, ensuring availability without overstocking.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to source materials on time and within budget.
  • Optimize usage of resources, including labor, materials, and machinery, to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.

Productivity Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Track and analyze production metrics such as output per hour, defect rates, and downtime.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices to enhance productivity.
  • Identify bottlenecks and streamline workflows to reduce idle time and increase production speed.

Health, Safety, and Compliance:

  • Enforce health and safety protocols to create a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, environmental regulations, and industry standards.

Coordination with Cross-functional Teams:

  • Work closely with merchandising, design, and sales teams to understand order specifications and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure machinery and equipment are in optimal condition.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely dispatch of finished goods.
