Responsibilities & Context:
  • Supervise and manage continuous operation of a large-scale PVC production unit through DCS, coordinating with field operators and technical teams to ensure safe, efficient plant performance and consistent product quality.

  • Lead shift operations, monitoring key parameters and optimizing reactors, stripping columns, compressors, centrifuges, and fluidized bed dryers during startup, shutdown, and steady-state operations.

  • Support erection, commissioning, and startup of PVC production facilities, including commissioning of reactors, pumps, compressors, blowers, and process equipment, as well as conducting hydro testing of pipelines and storage tanks.

  • Oversee VCM storage and handling operations, including ship unloading and storage in double-wall double-integrity cryogenic tanks, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational procedures.

  • Coordinate raw material planning and utility support services for plant startup and continuous operations while ensuring optimal production output and product quality through statistical process control techniques.

  • Participate in process safety initiatives, including HAZOP studies and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with plant safety procedures, environmental regulations, and operational standards.

  • Review P&ID, PFD, and process documentation, and contribute to equipment inspections and operational readiness of vessels, pipelines, and process units.

  • Ensure achievement of production targets, plant reliability, workplace safety, and environmental compliance, while guiding DCS and field operators for smooth shift operations.
