• Take over the activity’s status and work progress from earliest/outgoing shift officer, and arrange the shift program overall for his shift. Program means the delivery targets either finished goods or raw materials or anything assigned.

• Maintain a constant presence on the floor to oversee operations and ensure maximum utilization of jetty/ghat facilities in strict compliance with BSRM standards and safety protocols.

• Work as per the guidelines given by the management time to time.

• Monitor turnaround time of the lighter vessel while booked for taking loads at the outer anchorage, placement alongside the mother vessel, loading at the outer anchorage, sea travel time, unloading at the jetty, light draft survey, hatch sealing etc.

• Verify the vessel's statutory documents and other necessary evidences including availability of the GA plan, Stability booklet, Govt registration docs, etc.

• Inspect cargo holds seals, boat notes, and ensure safe berthing of the vessel at the jetty

• Arrange the jetty/ghaat preparation aligns with the guidelines before unloading materials.

• Prepare and submit hourly/daily/weekly/monthly ghaat / jetty utilization reports as per the prescribed format given by the logistics department.

• Monitoring overall process/production effectiveness (OPE), and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).  

• Arrange necessary numbers of the vehicle / pay loader / cranes / material handler in good conditions for continuity of the jetty / ghaat operations.

• Identify the losses, monitor loss-cost matrix through preparing pareto analysis, data representations, OEE calculations and to drive cost-saving initiatives related to ghaat / jetty operations.

• Liaison properly amongst the transport agents, C&F agents, security team, labor dept, and third-party surveyors (BV/TCIS).

• Escalating issues related to delays, resource unavailability, or other concerns to the management through proper channel.

• Assist data management, statistical research and feasibility study under the periphery of the role.
