Responsibilities & Context:
- Responsible for maintenance and repair of weaving & woven dyeing machines ( Fabric weaving/ Dyeing machines / Finishing machines / Lab machines - Maintenance including preventive, breakdown and predictive maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper functioning of machinery by conducting routine inspections and identifying potential issues early.
- Provide hands-on support in the troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and control system problems in dyeing machines.
- Stay updated on technological advancements and industry best practices related to dyeing machine maintenance.
- Work to reduce downtime and machine breakdowns through effective maintenance planning.
- Optimize machine efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
- Analyze machine performance data to suggest improvements and streamline operations.
- Ensure all machines and processes comply with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Implement safety protocols for maintenance activities to avoid accidents and hazards.
- Ensure that environmental regulations, particularly related to dyeing processes, are strictly followed.
- Maintain an inventory of essential spare parts for timely repairs.
- Ensure cost-effective procurement of parts and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels and track usage to prevent shortages or delays in repairs Supervise, mentor, and guide maintenance staff.
- Ensure the team is skilled in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing dyeing machinery.
- Assign tasks and ensure productivity and compliance with work schedules Collaborate with the production team to schedule maintenance activities without disrupting production.
- Provide regular reports on machine performance, downtime, maintenance costs, and any major issues.
- Coordinate with external service providers for specialized repairs or maintenance activities.
- Prepare and manage maintenance budgets for machine repair, spare parts, and labor.
- Work on cost-saving initiatives by improving machine efficiency and optimizing maintenance processes.
- Organize training programs to improve the skill level of the maintenance team.
- Encourage a culture of continuous learning to keep up with the latest technology in machine maintenance.
- Lead or assist in special projects like the installation of new dyeing machines or upgrades.
- Oversee machine overhauls, modifications, or retrofitting to extend equipment life and improve performance.
